This is a long-haul flight that will take about take about 19h and 20min on the shortest routes out of Melbourne, which are flown by Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways in combination with Wizz Air, and Emirates together with Flydubai, Ukraine International Airlines, or SkyUp Airlines. If you’re flying from Brisbane, you can choose Qatar Airways as well, which will take about 19h and 45min to make the trip. You can also choose to fly on Emirates, which will hand over to the same airlines as above for a total flying time of about 20h and 25min. Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine, and it’s not difficult to get from there to other tourist cities and attractions in the Black Sea region. The second most popular city after Kyiv is Kharkiv. You can reach it from Kyiv by taking a train journey of about 5h. If you prefer to get a taxi or hire a car, it will take about 6h and 10min to drive there. Odessa is perhaps a more famous city, and you can fly there from Kyiv, landing at its domestic airport about 3h and 30min later. The bus will take about 6h to get there, or you can drive the distance in just over 5h. The city of Dnipro is to the south-west, a train journey of around 6h away. Bus journeys will take a little under 9h, while you can drive there in about 6h and 30min.
