Qatar Airways check in at Heathrow is shambolic. They are supposed to be a top airline but there organisation and staff at Heathrow are dreadful. The check in process was one of the worst I've experienced in my years of travel. Accepting that I needed to pay for extra luggage, their process was very unprofessional and unsecure with a staff member asking to read my card credit card details out for payment, whilst there are many people close in proximity, including those queueing behind me. It was shocking from the airline in an age of crefit card fraud activities and what we are taught to be aware of. A real disgrace Qatar Airways! Added to this checking treatment of customers was dreadful. They changed my seat which I had specifically prebooked for extra leg room in a good position. They printed my boarding pass out and and didn't inform me they changed my seat. I noticed this before leaving the checkout desk and questioned it. First they told me they hadn't changed my seat. Then when someone else more senior spoke to me they confirmed they had changed seat and because they changed the aircraft type and configuration. I felt this should have been highlighted to me straight away when I checked in, But the airline just tried to cover it up with an act of dishonesty. The alternative seat they offered me turned out to be absolutely shocking and not what I had ordered and paid extra money for. This replacement aircraft was absolutely awful and not good advert for what Qatar advertise they are and why you choose to book with this airline. Seating was very uncomfortable on the flight to Doha, one of the very worst that I have experienced.
