I can can’t remember ever renting with Alamo, so this was essentially my first time. As noted, I booked online via Kayak, however when I arrived at CLT airport rental facility. The initial Alamo customer service representative was very rude and unfriendly. I believe she charged me a $400 dollar deposit because I was black. Due to the fact I was pressed for time I didn’t argue, I just paid the deposit and moved on in the moment. However, afterwards I re-reviewed the steps and information provided during the booking reservation process and no where was there language stating a policy regarding a the potential for a deposit. Again, I didn’t argue in the moment but the initial representative had an unkind attitude. However, everyone I encountered after leaving the checkin area were very pleasant people to talk to. If I wasn’t pressed for time the initial interaction could have forced me to make other rental arrangements. I am a premier Avis member so I could have simply walked 20 feet to the Avis counter.

Even though i had done the pre check in I still needed to go to the desk and wait in line. I dont know why I did a pre check in if I still needed to wait in line to go through all the same process a second time.
The staff at the Clinton Mississippi location were so professional and very helpful and I am so thankful for such high level of professionalism and I felt secure and safe traveling through storms in Missouri and making it back safely to Mississippi and if I had the power I would recommend a raise to the team that helped me and I will tell all my lawyer friends to book with Enterprise at this very location

I ended up canceling my rental and ended up renting a SUV in Lexington instead. It was over $100 less!!! I called Richmond Enterprise to see if they would price match because, ideally, Richmond is much closer to home, but they were firm. I had to go with the more affordable option, even though it meant driving to lexington.

When we went to pick up the car, it wasn't available. The person who helped us couldn't give us a car. We were scammed, lost our morning, and lost $30 that was never returned to us.

The pickup was terrible. Extremely long lines and understaffed customer service. If I schedule a pickup at a certain time I do NOT expect to have to wait 90 minutes to get my vehicle and, worse, have to stand up the whole time waiting. Avis’ onboarding process hasn’t evolved since the 90’s. Their car was only moderately cleaned and mechanically had a moderate vibration issue suggesting bad tires or a bad suspension. THE DEBIT AND CREDIT CARD POLICIES NEED TO BE STATED BOLDLY DURING THE BOOKING PROCESS AND NOT AS FINE PRINT!!! WHERE IN THE BOOKING PROCESS DOES IT TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE A FLIGHT ITINERARY TO USE A DEBIT CARD?? WHY WOULD YOU?????? There is a sign at the counter stating this policy. This means that Avis knows this is an ongoing issue with customers. So why wait until the customer gets to the counter to (reveal? emphasize?) the policy? Dumb. Or manipulative, knowing that customers are ‘captive’ at this point (after an HOUR AND A HALF WAIT). Is this a policy only at the airport counters? Is the idea to discourage local travel? Who knows? Who cares?! At this point I’ll be renting elsewhere

Car wasnt clean. Made an extra charge even though reservation was payed in advance
It was nice that they upgraded me one level on the vehicle however it was not what I was expecting and this vehicle was a Toyota 4Runner and turned out to be a bit of a gas hog. If they were not so busy I may have gone back in and asked to be downgraded to a smaller vehicle as I did not need that size of a vehicle. The day after I picked up the vehicle I got in it and the low tire sensor light came on and the tire had 23 lb of pressure in it and I had to stop and put air in it. That was a Friday and the next day I had the same problem however the Budget locations were closed with the exception of the airport and I was too far away to drive back and swap the vehicle so I had to get air put in the tire daily as it appeared to have a slow leak and when I contacted budget my only choice was to take it back to the airport as no other locations were open. While I was waiting in line to pick up my vehicle there was another woman who was returning her vehicle for the third time in a matter of hours as every time she pulled off the lot she got a car that had the check engine light on apparently budget is not checking Vehicles before they go out check your dash carefully before you leave the lot or you will be returning for a new vehicle. Additionally when I called the budget roadside assistance they were the ones who told me I must take it back and that if I wanted somebody to come change out the tire that was faulty it would cost me $130 to do that which is ridiculous I did not cause that that was their problem. Probably not renting from budget again even though I have rented from this budget in particular many times. I think I will try somebody else in hopes that their service / vehicles are better

They failed to wait for the delayed flight while other agencies had reps there for their clients. We were forced to pay our own way to and from hotel to get back to pick up car in the morning. They should have delivered car to us. Drop off was easier but they could have combined the two reservations for the pickup on the second reservation. Again inconvenienced to have to come back to the airport to pick up another car for drop off at a different airport. HORRIBLE experience.

The day before my rental I received a confirmation for 15 passenger van. When I arrived to pick it up they did not have one. I got a 12 passenger van instead and wasn’t offered a price adjustment. When I dropped it off I was the one who inquired about a cost difference between the two sizes and asked for an adjustment. This was very frustrating.

Drop off at Crown Center in KC was awful. Whether because it was so late or there is just poor or none signage about how to do after hour drop. First, I scheduled to return at 6pm. Then knew would be later so called office and questioned how to process. Website said closed at 5:30. Person on phone said closed at 5. He said to put key and parking ticket in dropbox. When got there did not see any signage about where to park. Asked a hotel valet and he directed me into hotel garage but no mention of where rental cars go, nor did I see signs. Then returned to Hertz office looking for drop box. Could not find. Tried chat. After long conversation, directed to try hotel front desk staff. She was actually very helpful and directed where drop box is - across from Hertz office. I wish I had been given directions when scheduled to return after hours.

They tried to charge me a lot more money than agreed upon with Kayak. I didn't realize until we were in the car, and had to go back and resolve the issue.
Rented Kia EV6.waited 40 minutes for pickup at airport and 20 minutes for car to get ready. With 60 miles of range left car lost power. Eventually made our way to another location and swapped for a Kia gas powered. Rest of rental was fine.
