How do you get to the city centre from Istanbul Airport?
Once you’ve made it through customs at Istanbul International Airport, Istanbul, you’ll have three main options for getting to the city centre. The easiest and most direct mode of transport are the yellow taxis, which can be found outside each of the airport terminals. If you wish to save yourself a bit of time and money, it’s worth booking your taxi in advance. Shuttle buses are another convenient option, with a choice of shared or private shuttles. These need to be booked before your arrival, and your meeting point will be confirmed once the booking has been made. Your final options for transport into Istanbul’s city centre are the HAVAIST and IETT buses. These can be found just outside the terminal exits. The HAVAIST bus is a dedicated airport shuttle service, while IETT is a fleet of municipal public buses. The latter will take you to the city centre, but they don’t stop at Istanbul’s major tourist points.
