Airlink does not provide entertainment. They are efficient though. They also don’t provide much overhead space onboard their aircraft. Expect to have to “sky check” your roller bag carry ons. Also, be aware the Kayak will not help you with your boarding pass or luggage movement. You’ll have to collect your Air Link boarding passes while in transit - which can be extra stressful if no one is at the transit desks in Johannesburg - and you need to confirm when beginning your journey where your luggage will end up. Know before you go whether you need to collect and recheck your bags in Johannesburg or not. This will dictate how much time you want for your layover. If you need to collect and recheck your bags you’ll want more than 3 hours. If you simply transit without having to collect your bags you’ll want less than 3 hours due to the likelihood of luggage theft and/or damage. Kayak will not help you with these things and once you’re en route their customer service, such as it is, is useless but since you booked through them and not the airlines the airlines will refer you to Kayak instead of proactively helping you.
