Car was dirty when i picked it up. Instead of offering to clean it, they gave me a coupon to clean it myself? It took me 30 min to get the car washed and vacuumed. Definitely not up to standards. Terrible.

The office was closed! Sign said back I. 20 minutes but nobody ever showed up! I was forced to rent a car elsewhere and it cost me $400 more because it was a Friday and the only thing available was a huge SUV! I’m still extremely angry!

Went to drop car off at pickup location on reservation and they were closed with no drop box. They tried to make me drive across town to airport to drop it off, horrible customer service.

The location didn't have our car so we had to drive to a second location to get it after they tried to have us leave in a 5 seater not the 7 seat car we reserved. Without so much as a word or an apology. A horrendous two hour experience.

Rental car agency was closed on Saturday so we could not pick up our car. It was impossible to get in touch with the actual agency where we had to do the pick-up. The service line was a disaster so we ended up wasting two entire days of our trip! On top of everything when the agent re-did our contract and applied the weekly rate, she did NOT say the rate would not apply if we returned the car earlier, which we obviously had to because it was time to leave. The store manager was the least courteous person I have ever met; he was rude, obnoxious and had no sense whatsover about customer service (I come from the travel industry). This rental ruined our entire vacation. We had to pay a higher amount than contracted for 3 days less! I will NEVER book Hertz again in my life... too bad, we've always been customers.

Worse ever. Shuttle is by metro bus s out of LAX to a remote rental lot where a can will pick you up. Took an hour to get the metro bus. Arriving we were told there were no cars and we had to wait two or three hours and maybe we would get a car. We had reservations! I ended talking Lyft to a reputable car agency. Also when you get in the van there is a sign you must put up $500 deposit. That was never disclosed.

I went to both the west LA & Santa Monica locations. The manager was on site and helped me at each spot. They took great pride in the cleanliness of their cars and worked with me patiently for some special circumstances. They are a little slower than the big companies but for me the customer service is worth the trade off

He went above and beyond to make my rental experience a premium one with an assured and calm attitude. I felt in good hands and left without any questions or worries after I received the car. I booked it online through kayak. I went to the Avis location and as soon as I got there I spoke with the Avis rep, he said right away that there’s no cars at all and there’s nothing he could do for me. This left me in a bad spot because now I’m there with all my luggage and no car. I had to call an Uber to a different Avis location. I spoke with an Avis person on the phone and she said she’d transfer my reservation to the other Avis location. When I got to the other Avis location they had no idea what I was talking about and couldn’t find my reservation. They ended up giving me a mini van when I had reserved a pick up truck

I asked for compact and they only had 1 car available which was a Kia soul. The car itself was dirty on the inside with lots of cosmetic damage on the outside. There were finger prints all over the back mirror. And my car smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke. I didn't change cars because I had a family emergency and also I'm sure they wouldn't have changed it since they said that was the last car. The man at the counter was nice though.

I booked a car two weeks before my travel date. Two days before they called me to tell me they didn't have any cars available, and there was nothing they could do for me. These people can take a reservation, but they don't seem capable of holding the reservation. Which really, is the whole point of the reservation. The holding.
