The drop off process was easy, which was valuable as PHX rentals are in a separate terminal so avoiding a travel hiccup was valuable. Pricing seemed fair, considering the current market. The pickup line was frustrating, especially when seeing customers for competitors move thru their lines with ease. Once reaching the desk, the rep was friendly and helpful. The car itself has a distinct odor, and not the good kind. Other than that, it was as expected and no complaints. However, it was not the vehicle I had reserved. While it was replaced with a comparable vehicle, there were reasons for choosing the vehicle I had initially reserved.

The upgrade cost could have been done away with since I was in a price where the agent got to choose the car. I saw many other companies that had compact cars for $20 to $25 cheaper a day. Then to try and up sale us on insurance and gas was a it too much. I won't use Thrifty again.

They were out of cars. None- there were about 60 people there that night and they did not get their vehicles. I paid a high upgrade fee to get a Shelby mustang convetible - it was the only car they had left. I was expecting to pay about $200 for a rental and I ended up spending about $900. It was a horrendously suboptimal experience. The car, however, was nice, but it would have rather been able to rent and pay for what I needed, not for a fancy sports car.
