Frustrating. I'm a long-time Alamo renter (and fan). But we got into a car that REEKED of cigarettes, and immediately reported that. We were told "oh, we'll make sure to credit you for that." When we returned the car at the end of our rental, that hadn't happened (no credit at all, no notation on the receipt). We called, and were told that someone from Burbank would be in touch. When we got the call from someone at Burbank, it was as if he hadn't looked at the record at all, and his message was "well, when you return the car, we can ..." WHAT?? The car was returned DAYS before this call was placed. SO frustrating - and ... why did we get a cigarette-reeking car in the first place? Someone had clearly sprayed one or two pumps of air freshener in it, but that quickly dissipated. Very, very, very disappointing.

Guy called me, asked if I was flexible on time to get car. Told him yeah I just needed to go to Topeka for the day. He said he would "try to find a car". Then never called back.
The reservation was booked online and a confirmation number was provided. Upon arrival at Avis there were no vehicles available. This left me completely without a vehicle. This is absolutely unacceptable! The business model needs a serious review on how reservations are handled!!! I learned my lesson to never book with Avis!

No problems at all , at pick up . But a few into our trip the maintenance required notification came on , the worse thing is that the type of car we got had the normal head lights to high and other drivers would flash at us probably thinking we had high beam lights on , it became a little dangerous in a two way freeway ,big trucks turn there high beam lights probably thinking we were doing it on porpoise ( Toyota Highlander)
Employees were friendly but did not give any resolution to the dirty van. No coupon to go get it washed. Just an excuse of why it was dirty on the outside, but ok what about the inside. There could be no excuse. It just was not cleaned from previous uses. I Lysol and wiped down with disinfectant wipes. Van was dirty inside and out.

When I went to pick up the vehicle it wasn’t even at the pickup point. I had to either wait for another hour for it to arrive or drive 5 miles across town and pickup at another location. I chose to drive to other location. I was not compensated for the extra time and delay. I rented a dodge pickup. I was traveling a total distance of 1700 miles. Going with the wind the vehicle made 11.5 miles per gallon. On my return trip I was driving into the wind and the vehicle averaged 8.8 miles to the gallon. Last year I rented a dodge pickup from hertz and got over 20 miles per gallon at approximately the same miles. I returned the vehicle on 3-5-2022 to the east Wichita Kansas location and reported the poor gas mileage. The gentleman was not friendly and didn’t care that I had a very bad experience.
