Waited 45 min to receive a vehicle I had already booked. The car I received was spot washed and not clean on the inside. The pickup and drop-off is not located at the airport but down the street. I believe this is why they have the issues they do. No airport standard accountability

At the Honolulu Thrift counter they wasted 15 minutes of my time trying to upsell a car I didn’t want. They went ahead and charged me for the upgrade anyway, without me realizing it. When picking up the car from the lot I realized they were giving me an upgrade which I declined and asked to go back to the car I booked, which they did. Just returned my car today after the trip. The final “auto” invoice had the upgrade charge added. Now I am fighting with Thrifty’s customer service to take the upgrade fee off my invoice (and charge me for the car I actually used)! Very unethical and terrible service.

Stay away from thrifty/ dollar at Honolulu airport, for the money you save over other rentals it's not worth it. Even after a prepaid rental we waited about 3 hours to get our truck even after we upgraded to a larger SUV as the person at the front desk said this one is in stock. Saving a little money is not worth the headache, also our rental was dirty and had damage all over. Rental itself was nice but that's about it. The person downstairs where you pickup the cars from told everyone within earshot that because we were being cheap that's why we have to wait for a car.... The other rental counters were empty and people that went to them were in and out in a normal amount of time.

The car was nice and in good condition. When we dropped it off the attendant said we were good to go. Then later, I received a fuel charge and other fees. Next time I will go to a more reputable rental company.
