Pick up and drop off were easy and quick. The windscreen could have been a little cleaner. The inside was streaked, we had to clean to make visibility better. But the car was great. Would use Hertz again.

The Hertz agent was professional and accommodating.
Car was fine. Pickup was poor experience. Very snippy employee who seemed bothered I was renting the car. Then the car wasn’t full of gas, and same snippy employee told me to return the car half full at drop off. Nobody around at 6am for drop off, so I dropped keys into night Dropbox. 3 hours later I received my receipt… I was charged $65 for gas surcharge since car was returned not full. More phone calls, and charge still not reversed 24 hours later. No apology. Very poor customer service!!

I had a mystery vehicle, i.e. I didn't select what we would get, but I was very pleased with what we were given. Vehicle wasn't ready at the appointment time so we had to wait nearly an hour to get the vehicle. Cost to rent seemed expensive.

I usually rent from a competitor with which I have status. However, their prices were terrible that weekend. I rented a modest car from Avis but ended up in a great Ford SUV. I'm more likely to rent again from Avis now.

The website refused to allow us to reserve a car for the 4:30 pickup time. It read that, but when the final version came up it defaulted to 9 PM. Very messy. HOWEVER, the local agent figured a way to reconcile the situation so it worked well in the end. Just extremely frustrating at home, trying to make it work right.
I didn’t like anything. I asked for a full size car. I was given a mustang convertible. I asked about why that car. I was told that’s what my manager told me to give you. Why would people in their 70’s want a two door convertible? It was so small we had to put two suitcases in the back seat. The car sat extremely low and we had a hard time getting in and out of the vehicle. The back tires should have been replaced. We prayed every morning that the tires would make the trip from Rapid City, SD to Fresno, CA. Also at traffic lights when stopped the car kept wanting to stall out. I feel like there was no need for a convertible in South Dakota and the manager wanted to get rid of it. I feel like National should be paying me the $4700.00 I paid National for me moving the car for them. Never again. Going to use Hertz next time.
