I originally saw this deal. While waiting for my wife to get the flight info I could no longer find it. By back narrowing it I was able to get back to it. My info was still in so I went forward with the booking. It put my arrival time for the car before my flight took off so, when I got to my destination the off site rental place was closed. Because it was Saturday they were not open again till Monday. Meaning I was stranded at the airport with no car. I called the rental place and they said because I booked through Kayak, there was nothing they could do. I wound up booking at the airport and payed $100.00 more because I didn’t have a choice. Seems I should have compensation for the mistake. We’ll see if anyone contacts me.

Our flight was delayed in Dallas by the time we landed the pickup location was closed. We figured we would try to have the reservation switched to the airport pick up. They wanted an extra $1000.00 dollars to get the same car for the same amount of time. We then decided to just Uber and pick the cat up on Sunday. Nope! They are closed on Sunday and our reservation was only good for 24 hours after the original pick up time. We had NO RENTAL ALL WEEK FOR OUR FAMILY OF 7!! At least we found a nice customer service rep at the 1-800 number that couldn’t get us a car but refunded my money.

Off site from airport, but great customer service! Easy!
Rented a truck from Budget. Truck was black, so the half @$$ wash job that was done really showed. I did my initial inspection (ALWAYS do an inspection) and noticed a small scratch on the passenger door. Pointed it out to the employee, and they annotated it on my contract. The folks at Budget were very friendly and helpful. Overall it was good experience. I would recommend them in the future

I didn't have a happy experience AT ALL. I rented a 15 passenger van 2 months PRIOR to my pick up date. Something went wrong and they didn't have what I asked to rent, BUT I COULD HAVE A 12 PASSENGER VAN FOR THE PRICE OF THE 15, SINCE THE RATES INCREASED. Not once was I notified that there was a problem, not one apology from anyone on the counter. For my so called inconvenience, I was told to bring the van back empty (not filled with gas) and I should just be happy I got any van because I showed up for pickup at 2:30pm instead of 12pm. I was late due to a flight delay in St Louis, MO but you had the option to cancel my rental after 2 hours late. JUST WOW. When I did return the van before my scheduled time, I was charged $206.79 for 20.7 gallons at $9.99/gallon. I would have filled the van up had I known that! I will never use Budget or Avis again. I don't know why I bothered writing this. You got your money, NO ONE CARES!

It took almost an hour to get our car (and we had a six month old baby in 80+ degree heat) after we spent 30 minutes at the desk on the paperwork. Sounds like the location of the cars was far away from the airport even though we had a reservation for a van and the correct pick up time.
It couldn't have been easier to rent the car. Very happy with the service.

The only issue with the car was a low tire pressure indicator that stayed on for the entire rental period. Otherwise it was a painless experience. No hidden price surprises, and everyone was very friendly.
Car stunk of cigarette smoke. It was a bigger process than we imagined getting the car at the airport and once we did, we didn’t feel like going back and asking for another SUV so we just drove with the windows down a lot.

At pickup at 10am, I was assured I had the car for 24 hours but could drop it off early in the afternoon. I was NOT informed by Kayak or the rental agency that the dropoff location would close early in the afternoon and have zero after-hours options. This caused me to miss several work-related events and fruitlessly drive across the city to another location that was also closed. When I finally was able to return it the following morning at 9am (after paying for unplanned overnight parking and missing more important events in the process), I was charged for two days despite being assured the rental was for 24 hours. I also had to pay for gas because it had gone down from full and I had no time to refill the gas tank for the second time in a row. Terrible experience, and I will think twice before using in the future.

Nice car, lousy attitude of personnel, and ridiculous over-rental-time policy. Let’s face it: Travel involves lots of unexpected events….like cancelled flights. But be assured…..that doesn’t matter to Avis or their employees, even if you’re only two hours late. They’re gonna charge you another FULL day — with a “so sad…..too bad” attitude. I have told Avis they have lost a good customer forever. Arrogance and stupid policies don’t mix well with proper customer service.
