We were given incorrect information about our vehicle pickup when our flight was delayed. We were told that an agent would be available and when we arrived it was closed even though we were told that an agent would be there.

Beware of the off-hours drop box for keys! I had a 6am flight from PSP so I had to drop off the car before the Alamo desk opened. Boarded my flight. And my connection. When I got to my destination 5 hrs later, I was informed at the next airport that they couldn’t rent to me… because I had an open contract at PSP! Literally spent 1 hr 45 min at the counter trying to get someone at PSP to answer the phone. No idea why they couldn’t close out a contract within 5 hours of opening. Terrible service. Don’t trust the drop box process.

The value of the deal was good. Gas mileage was good. The attendant “Jay” was accommodating and helpful…..That’s pretty much where it ended. The location was in no man’s land, and no shuttle service from or to the airport. The vehicle, a Toyota Carolla, was worn out and NOISY. I don’t know if it was from the tires or what, but I could hardly hear the radio, and when on the highway, and conversation was difficult. My wife’s Toyota Tacoma with off road tires rides like a limo compared to our rental. The vehicle is tired and needs attention. Oh, and the “engine maintenance needed soon” light kept coming on. The bottom line is that it got us from point A to point B without breaking down and it was tolerable.

The crew working at the yard where we picked up and dropped off our car were very friendly, helpful and courteous. The yard itself seemed pretty nondescript, but the people working there were upbeat and enthusiastic. I’ll be happy to rent from the Eugene Street yard again.

I picked up the car at 11:00 and could not see the small dent on the fender (dark blue). Also, found a lot of broken safety glass in the third row seat. I had small children to worry about even after I vacuumed it out, there was still glass everywhere.

The price was good—the pickup not at airport but a few miles away. Luckily a friend was able to take us there otherwise would have to get Lyft or Uber. The car was fine but a maintenance message came on in the middle of our rental saying to take the car to a dealer. I figured it was notification of a regular maintenance check up and nothing dire, but it was a concerning. Drop off was at the airport and very easy. Overall, a positive experience—just a little odd that pick up place was so remote and far from airport.

I was the ninth person in line and it took an hour and a half to get to my car. The car they gave me which had only 4000 miles on it had a warning light that service was required. I did not notice the light until the next morning. I brought it back and the guy said oh lots of the the cars have that warning. I said, OK, give me a written note acknowledging that. He said no I’ll just give you a different car. He then gave me a car that had 48,000 miles on it. It was in poor condition. The battery went dead twice. The serviceman said the battery was fine. It was probably the alternator,. In addition I was supposed to pick up the car on January 1. Oops, they were closed on January 1 and I had to take a cab to my condo and a cab back to pick up the car the next morning. Just an awful experience with Budget.

The rental site is further from the airport than I'd expected. The car had a dirty windshield and when I used the wiper fluid, the wipers didn't work well. They need replacing. There was a hole in the driver's side carpet and there were no mats in the car. It would have been better if the check out guy had warned me of the hole in the carpet and the ding on the body near the wheel before I went to get the car. He should have told me the damage was noted on the paperwork so I wouldn't be charged for it. I won't use this rental location again.
