The pick up attendant was the best part of the rental experience. She was quick and friendly and overall helpful. Sadly it went downhill after. The car was filthy and had obviously not been cleaned after the last person. There were glass water bottles rolling around the back seat, trash in the trunk and crumbs and stuff all over the rest of the car. The service light was on and the brakes made a loud noise for the 2 days I had it.

Christine, the manager at the Bradley International Airport Hertz Location was AMAZING. Were it not for her kindness, support, amazing customer service, I would not opt to return; as the result of her amazing 'care' I will be back. Give that woman a raise... truly a gem! They don’t even have cars available what I selected . Online it’s shows available but they called and says that car is not available then I called the other location to make sure if they have mini van available there costumer service confirmed me that this location have mini van available I asked her twice to make sure if they have mini van because last location didn’t have it even it was shown available online but she confirmed it’s available but same thing happen when I was close to there location I received call from that location that they don’t have mini van available I don’t y they can’t keep there system updated it’s was so frustrating

After booking online and receiving a confirmation number I was told the morning of the rental that they didn’t have a car for me. That’s the second time they have done that . I will NEVER use Enterprise again!!!

We got a great deal on the rental at an enterprise on “airport road”. Unfortunately, that was NOT the enterprise actually AT the airport. So my wife, my fifteen-month-old, our copious luggage and our carseat were all stranded, the place we had our reservation at had just closed, and we were told we’d have to take an Uber to our hotel, then another Uber the next day to pick up the car from the proper location. Embarrassed, we accepted the expensive mistake, and started looking into getting an Uber that could fit all our bags (probably a minivan? Probably a hundred-dollar ride?) But just as we were reeling from TGAT sticker shock, lo! The enterprise representative had returned with a solution just for us! They had a minivan there we could rent. We were so relieved at avoiding the expensive Uber, we didn’t think to ask the cost of the minivan, and it wasn’t mentioned. As it turns out, that was an EXPENSIVE mistake on my part. After signing the paperwork, our budget reservation (at $70/day) had suddenly turned into a $200/day disaster. I should have said something, but I was too stunned and embarrassed and it was too late—I’d already signed. But MAN! Talk about a bait-and-switch! I know… it’s my fault for mixing where I had to be to pick up the car, and it’s my fault for signing without asking the price first, but that doesn’t stop the whole thing from feeling predatory and kinda gross, not to mention personally pretty traumatizing. Now, to be fair, everything ELSE about the car rental experience was excellent and I have zero complaints. Return was a breeze, the car itself was fantastic, everyone was kind and the lady at the return even offered to drop the car off at the terminal, if that would make things easier with our child, but we declined, partially out of worry that it might include an extra charge of some kind. Nevertheless, the glossed-over, hand-waved cost-tripling was just too traumatic, budget-wise. I’ll be avoiding Enterprise, Alamo, and National in the future.

I was never given the car! The attendant was extremely rude as she wanted to go home. The location closes at 3pm, but my pick-up time wasn't until 3pm. I called earlier in the morning to see if it was possible to pick up the car any earlier, but I was told that wouldn't be possible. I arrived on time, but there was a substantial line ahead of me. By the time she got to me her frustrations were high. I'm an American, but have lived and worked abroad for the last 6 years. I've had licenses in California, Connecticut, Ghana, and now Qatar. I reserved this car to get from CT to Boston to catch my flight back to work in Qatar. People from all over the world rent cars every day. I presented her with my Qatari driver's License, but she would not provide me with my reservation nor allow me an opportunity to present any needed supplemental documentation. She walked away from me to assist another customer in the lot. I pleaded with her to please asssit as I was trying to catch my flight that day, but she would not help and said they were closed. I asked her to please cancel my reservation if she would not help me to which she shook her head no as she walked away from me. Not only did I inconvenience someone for a ride to the car rental place, but they also had to wait and take me back with them. I also had to catch a Lyft to Boston which cost me an additional $174.99 unexpectedly. I heard many complaints from the customers ahead of me which were not dealt with appropriately. I will never book a car from that location again.

When we got the car after the first night, it was in our driveway. The tire pressure was down in one of the tires, and we had to add air every morning to the tire for the entire time we had the car.

I called the 800 number to ask if I can drop the keys at the leibert rd Hartford CT they said service it’s not available at this location. I found out that is available when I returned the car on Monday morning.

No one was at the building, no one was available to call about our pickup appointment, just a automated phone tree. Canceled appointment and rebooked with Hertz

Landed in Bradley Airport expecting a one day rental from Avis only to find out that my sister made reservations out of Hartford (Avis). This was NOT by any means Avis’s fault, just an inconvenience because I was there for a funeral traveling with my wheelchair bound mother. The thing that I wish Avis could make a deeper dive is convenience especially in the age of technology. Our flight and rental were purchased as s packaged and if the technology could have flagged that is was NO way that we could have made it to Hartford from Bradley by 6:00pm to pick up a rental when our flight landed at 6:27 pm. The good news is that we were able to get a ride from a family member. Thank you.

They were way overbooked on cars and gave me the wrong size car with a bent rim amd it smelled like cigarretes

For some reason I was not in the AVIS system. What I found on Kayak and THOUGHT i booked for approx $700 ended up a standard rental that I had to book at the last moment at the counter for $1297. I have no idea why this Kayak reservation did not go through. I suspect I never received any confirmation other than a mobile text when I booked it. I see the airline ticket and hotel were done around 6/7. Any way I can be credited some of this EXPENSIVE rental?
