Nissan car hires in Gatwick

All went well until drop off (after hours) where they were extremely anal retentive about a minuscule scuff to the wheel insisting that it was chargeable damage, not fair wear and tear. This is despite their definition of wheel damage being a ‘gouge’. All other cars that I have hired have had some tolerance for ‘curb rash’. They attempted to charge me £440 Swiss francs for this, which is totally unreasonable. I had to return in person and after a lot of negotiation I managed to reduce the charge to 110 Swiss francs. They admitted that 110 Swiss francs was in fact the cost to replace to replace the wheel not 440 Swiss francs so this was a major overcharge. So overall it was an unnecessary stressful experience.

I went to Hertz and pick up car but they didn’t let me rent it. I need my money back. They said I need to use same card when I purchased from you guys but I payed with Affirm and they didn’t accept my card.

Hello, I made my reservation online. When I got the the pickup counter I was told the prices in my online reservation were wrong and that it would be substantially more. I understand the need for a deposit, but the gentleman at the counter said the deposit would be $5,000 and the rental would be $367.25. I was quoted $2500-$3500 for the deposit by your websites customer service when I reached out to let them know of the experience. Online my rental was quoted at $208.61. Only the $3500 deposit option the counter man said matched what your website provided. Nothing else matched. There were cheaper deposit options, but the rental would be more than triple my original price. I was told $3500 deposit and $512.81 for the rental. $1000 deposit and $618.56 rental. $500 deposit and $671.46 rental. I ended up going with a different provider. This was my first and only time using Kayak. I know one persons business won’t affect you, but if they continue to tarnish your reputation and reliability it will eventually hurt you. I wish you would reach out to them and fix this for the next guest who tries to use you.

Handling of costumer at the desk was very poor. I was denied for the car I had booked and after wasting one and a half hour at desk we were upgraded. There policy was not clear.

The easiest and friendliest car rental process ever! Booked online for Nelson Airport pickup and return Feb ‘24. Cheerful and helpful man at the desk. No surprises. Smooth process. But be aware that there is an extra surcharge for the airport ( ours was $45).

They gave me a ride back to my hotel after I returned the car....

pick up time was quite long but it was a busy day and I just missed one bus so 30 mins wait for the next. Better instructions to locate the bus would help

This company is a scam. Despite the fact that I had proof of insurance, they demanded that I show the declaration page of my policy. Of course nobody carries that around. I have been renting cars for many years and proof of insurance is all that is ever required. So they said that in order to rent a car, I would have to buy $46 worth of insurance from them. I left and rented from another company. Please issue a full refund plus an additional $50 for lost time and aggravation. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

Excessive overcharging. Additional charges for location pick up, spurious taxes and 3 times normal fuel charges. I would not use them again at Gatwick airport.

I'd 100% use avis again. Very easy pick up and drop off. Car was perfect. Price for the week hire was very reasonable.

I had to cancel and the company refused. I didn't use the vehicle and I still lost £62.00.
