I would never rent from them again they refused to honour my credit card insurance the car was dirty and damaged when I got it and didn’t come with floor Matt’s or anything DO NOT RENT FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS We called to insure someone would be there to return the car and take us to the airport and they were 30min late. The one tire on the car was completely bald and they refused to change it and said it was fine Poor service do not reccommend I have never had this and I rent cars very often Avoid this company at all costs

The girl in the front desk with glasses needs customer service training. Very rude. Also they charged us$56 for tolls and when I went to pass thru a toll booth the ez pass Had no funds. Paid out pocket and it was $4 us. Why would you charge $56us? Scamming people is not a good business practice. Got my money back and in the future I would NOT rent from this company again. Honestly, the shuttle to pick up and drop off to the airport was not available for me at all. After calling the place again and again, no once answered. I had to take an Uber to the place. Once I arrived there, the wait for the rental took me 2 hours and 37 minutes after getting to the place before having a car in my possession. There are extra hidden fees that were processed as transaction from my credit card. That was on top of getting a complete insurance. At the day of checkout, the car was checked out and pictures taken from all angles of the car, and the agent said everything was fine, but still another transaction was processes, once I asked, he stated that there was no transaction, to which I showed him the date and message notification, to which he denied was them. The car was given to me dirty and then I was asked whether I wanted it to be cleaned or not, to which I replied of course. The price does not seem expensive at first, but it builds up when you get there. I would recommend another car rental location. This experience was not pleasant in any way. The only thing I appreciated was getting dropped off to the airport by the agent who used the rental I just dropped off to drop me off at the airport. His reasoning was, if we waited for their shuttle to the airport, we would most like not make it on time. In other words, they don't have a reliable shuttle system.

I brought a valid car collision and anti theft insurance valid in Dominican Republic. The employee from Thrifty told me that I had to buy extra insurance from then and he didn’t give me the car. That employee was very rude and unhelpful. At the airport, the other rental car employees told us that that was a very common practice from thrifty and their personnel, because that’s how they make their commissions. PLEASE!!! Do not rent from this people!!!

Beware!!! Even if your insurance, or your credit card says you are covered for CDW in the DR, they will force you on arrival to buy CDW from thrifty DR. They claimed it was Thrifty policy. It cost almost as much as the original rental price. Beware!!
We had to cancel our trip to Santo Domingo due to unavailability of the van we reserved. National wrote the same day we would take the car saying they did not has the Van we booked. They offered us to provide 2 cars at the end of the day (for the same price) which impacted us as we would had to pay double the gasoline by using two cars. We were not able to do our planned activities because of the unavailable of the van. It is so sad that we reserved with almost 2 weeks I'm advance and the car agency did not reserved the van for us.
There are many hidden charges there are not displayed during the car booking. I was forced to pay insurance coverage again from the rental company saying the insurance that I purchased online is not acceptable. And I had to pay the insurance amount from the rental company that costed me about C$600. On top of that I was asked to pay another deposit of $160 Canadian, which I did get refunded back on drop off of my vehicle. When I got the vehicle, the range on the vehicle was just 25 km but the guy documented on the sheet that they are giving me 2/8 of the tank. When I ask, why are you inputting this wrong information? The guy told me he does not understand English. Overall, it was very disappointing experience with the car rental.
