Alex was very helpful. I appreciate that he was willing to help. When I got into town I was supposed to pick up the car off site away from the airport which I wasn’t aware of. He was able to get me into a car at the airport which was a major convenience.

The car was brand new and nice, although I waited a long time as the staff had no sense of urgency and there were other staff standing around On the return they just sat and waived me to drive up to the rental office and I kept asking if someone was going to assist me. They 2 employees just sat talking to each other and finally called someone to check in the car.

I liked the car. But the pickup experiences and customer service were mostly awful. I was misled into booking the car for the non-airport Ft Lauderdale location, which at any rate was set to close so soon after my arrival that it was doubtful I could have made it there on time. No one warned me about the close timing or the fact that there were 2 locations in Ft Lauderdale and that they might get confused. Worse yet, the different Sixt locations operate as if they're almost entirely independent, meaning that no one was authorized to simply switch my reservation location, even as I was willing to pay extra to do so. I wasted between 8 to 10 hours of my vacation between waiting at Sixt locations, on the phone with Sixt, and driving to and from West Palm Beach because of Sixt's inability to process a simple change. For some reason, the "best solution" they eventually offered me was to pay a premium for a 1-day carryover rental to pick up the remaining 11 days at a different location that was closer to where I was staying. But for some inexplicable reason, I couldn't just get the new agreement over the phone; I still needed to drive 90 minutes roundtrip to West Palm Beach to sign the agreement in person. The wait was excruciatingly long, with just one person working there at the desk and taking forever to process the one person in front of me. And then the most offensive part... The person at the desk upcharged me for liability insurance, claiming that I needed to get it because of Florida law and refusing to let me proceed with the contract, even after I said I didn't want liability insurance or think I needed it. The guy gave me his name and number in case of problems, but when I called later, it was the wrong number. Later, when I complained to Sixt, they reversed the extra insurance charge--appropriately--as I'd independently verified that I in fact was already covered by my insurance and didn't in fact need it. If I wasn't already exhausted from this whole experience, I might have looked into suing Sixt for deceptive practices. The only silver lining to this story is that one Sixt employee on the phone seemed legitimately interested in helping me solve the problem in spite of what I was originally told where insurmountable challenges and the need for me to file paperwork to get my money back. That employee apparently handled it so I didn't need to file the paperwork after all, and I did eventually get the sleazy extra charge refunded. I will definitely pay a premium to avoid Sixt in the future. Not worth the hassle.

My flight was delayed several hours due to weather. Ace cancelled my reservation and refused to honor the price I reserved. Manager was rude. They charged me almost twice as much. Also the van I rented had some electrical issues. When I turned it in and informed them, they brushed me off and said it must have been something I did. Never using Ace again.

The service was great at the front desk. Professional and fast. My reservation unfortunately expired since my flight was delayed so I ended up renting a more expensive car. I wish ACE would check the flight delay and adjust the reservation accordingly. Other than that the service was very good. Would rent again.

I was charged for an insurance that I did not want . At the time of rental I was told is part of the CDW but when I looked at my rental agreement I was charged for $5.99 a day for PAC! When called the counter the agent lied to me and said it’s part of the insurance! I asked what is PAC stands for and he just said again: it is part of your insurance! After the 4th time asking he said it is personal accidental coverage, which I declined and asked for to be removed from my rental agreement.

My reservation was cancelled by the time I got to Florida. They did not have car for the previous cancelled reservation and they wanted to charge about 700 for a bigger car.. this is very disturbing the way this car rentals do business in Florida. I would not do any reservation with this company.

When I picked the car up the tire pressure light was on. I informed the lot attendant about the issue. He took the car and returned and said the problem was resolved. Well on our way to our destination the tire light came back on while we were on the freeway. The tire was totally flat. So I was going to put the spare tire on but no spare tire and no inflator nothing. Please check your rental car to make sure these items are there.

The wait at airport and confusion over what vehicle's that are actually ready and available was less than ideal but I understand . The truck we rented had a very strong smell of marijuana smoke that never went away all week. Especially noticeable after truck sat in 100* sun and then you opened doors.

We did not receive communication that the off-airport site closes at 3:00. We arrived at 3:30, and although the employees were still there, they refused to rent us a car. We had taken an Uber from the hospital after a week stay, and with that additional information they still refused to help. When I said it was the poorest customer service I had seen, the self-identified manager, Daniel, started yelling at us. "I work 9-3, and ONLY 9--3!).

This was a last minute rental because of flight cancelation. The agent was friendly and helpful, the pickup and drop off were easy and uneventful. Through force of habit I typically rent from another company, Due to this experience I will rent from Avis in the future.

We believed that our pickup was at the airport but the location was 3 mles away. This would have been fine but they did not have a shuttle so we had to pay for a taxi to take us to the locaiton. When we got their we were infomed that they had no SUV's at all which is what we paid to rent. They only thing they had on their lot was 2 Mini Van's which is what they told us we had to take. Even though their were plenty of SUV's 3 miles up the road at their airport location the woman refused to have one brought for us. We did not like the minivan at all. It was more difficult to park and since space was limited where we spent the week it became a big problem. I placed my rental request weeks before my pickup. There was no excuse for them to not have the vehicle I paid to rent.

I became a Gold member in order to avoid lines and people. I was told I didn’t have to get in line just look at the screen for my name. My name wasn’t in the screen so I had to make a line. They finally tell me the exact location of my car. I get to it and I see a car that does not match what I rented. I asked two different workers there what do I do. Both of them tell me to just take the car. I explained to them I just arrived from a long flight and I have a baby. I do not want to be back and forth so please confirm. They both tell me just take it, not a problem. When I am leaving parking lot, the manager tells me I have to get all my things out of the car and go to a different car. I explained to him what his two workers have said to me and how I had already put my baby’s car seat in. Main reason I wanted confirmation before. He gets mad and me and tells me to move out the car quickly. I found it rude and disrespectful for him to treat me that way after I wanted to avoid all that and become a gold member for what? Still issues came nothing was smooth. I had my family of five getting out in the middle of the exit, rearranging the stroller and bags again. They refused to give me my license until I switched cars, acting as if I would steal something? I never cared for the car I just wanted to get my family to the hotel. The treatment was unnecessary especially since I was the one making sure which car to take. Avoid!

My wife picked up the rental and accidentally purchased cdw insurance. I called and could not get through to a human. The office where it was picked up did not answer the phone. I stopped in a different office and asked to remove the cdw for the remainder of the trip and was told that could only be done at the original pickup location, which is ludicrous.

Folks at the counters when picking up the vehicle had attitudes. When I asked if they were available to help me after standing unassisted for 10 minutes the man stated, "sure", with a tone. Then stated, "wasn't someone else helping you?" The female that was helping me initially, whom also had a terrible attitude, walked away while I spoke to a representative on the phone because of a cc error and never came back. I didn't bring the cc I booked the rental under and understand I had made an error. They were annoyed they whole time. Beat part was I was the only person in line so it's not like I was holding anything up. Also my vehicle smelled of smoke. I will say both attendants outside were extremely pleasant and helpful.

I've booked the convertible car (Ford Mustang or similar) from Thrifty. At the pickup location I spent 1 hour in the queue, then my rental agreement was finally done and I went to get the car. But the second manager who was supposed to give the keys - said, that there is no any convertible car available, and is not going to appear today. He proposed to get the Jeep, because 'it's the same'. After that I spent another 1 hour in investigations, and my money for booking are not yet fully returned. The questions are: 1. Why Thrifty doesn't inform its customers that the car is not available in advance, before you go to pickup it? They have all the contacts and everything. 2. Why they don't inform you at the moment of completion of the reservation agreement and payment? 3. Why they don't offer any compensation for spending 2 hours at their desk? That's a huge loss of time during one's vacation.

I loved that my reservation was honored. I was in and out and my family was comfortable. I was not happy that the vehicle was NOT cleaned. There were Cheerios everywhere. I guess the detailer did not move the seats and the smell was sweaty heat. Finally, I make it home and forgot that I left the house key on the car ring. We went straight backm maybe 45 minutes and the attendant told me that the car was gone and they did not know where it was. I was so upset, but thank God for Pierre (if I'm not mistaken) the Supervisor who got on his cart and search the floors and found my key in the car that was indeed in the building. This encounter took 1 whole hour. Other than that this would have been the perfect rental experience. Life happens. I would still re-book.

Aweful experience. Never again. Arrived at airport and there were two employees behind the desk, only one actually processing people. Over 50 people waiting in line and one employee announces it will be up to a 3 hour wait for a car after getting processed. Few minutes goes by and another announcement that it will be 6 hours before getting a car. Asked about my car that I already prepaid for and I was told to get an Uber to a hotel and come back later.

First and last time I rent with Dollar. I have no idea if it was Fort Lauderdale, but I had to stand in line for 2 hrs to get to the counter. Over 150 people on line and only 3 clerks, RIDICULOUS!. And once you get to the counter, another 2 hrs waiting to get the car!. I stand on line at 12:36pm. Got to the counter at 2:36 pm and finally I got my car at 4:37pm!! Ahhhhh!
