Everything was great until we dropped the car off. They overcharged us for the car at the Avis destination. I'm trying to resolve with Avis. Part of it stems from the check-in. As soon as a car was turned in they handed the keys over to us. They didn't clean or disinfect the car, quickly captured the miles and gas and then sent us off. That was fine since we were wanting to hit the road but it ended up creating issues for us at the end. There was only a 1/2 tank of gas and that's how we returned it but it looks like we were penalized for it. We also were a few hours late because of traffic and they charged us an extra $100 for an extra day. So overall it ended up being a disappointing experience.

Waited in line for an hour and a half to get my rental car. Only one person working the entire office. He would leave the office to get each rental car out of the parking garage to bring it to the customer. When I finally got my rental, it smelled like dog, had dog fur all in it, and a lot of beach sand. I hadn’t even looked over the van yet and the agent had already ran back inside to help the next customer. I was stuck with it because I knew that he wasn’t going to clean it and there wasn’t anything left.

Rented car through Hertz with Kayak, got to location for 12Noon rental at 12:05. Location was closed. Should not allow pickup AT closing time.

Booked with you all for a different location then wasn’t “allowed” to drop off to my selection point. Had to cancel last day and was only given $15 back for loss of a whole last day. Hertz informed me I was not allowed to drop off car at airport with a lock box or drop keys somewhere. Then when I took car a day early to Hertz in Port Charlotte, the manager told me I actually could have dropped off key to Punta Gorda airport, which was my original plan. Lost lots of money including paying fir Uber rides because I no longer had rental car. Horrible experience

I never received my car. I had a 12pm pick up from a location that closed at 12pm. How does that make any sense. Clearly a faulty system. When I arrived at 12:18, there was no one around for help. They were then closed until 2 days later. I was stranded and had to rent a car from someone else. But it gets even better, Hertz still charged me for the car I never used! Terrible service

My flight was cancelled and rebooked the next day. Therefore I needed the rental car for an extra day. when i requested to extend the rental by a day, Hertz said no, that it couldn't be extended. So i had to return the car (3 hour drive) to the airport and then get a hotel near the airport. It was hit and uncomfortable and a lot of in and out of airport for no reason. I will not choose Hertz again. Also it took me several tries to get through Hertz’ automated telephone system to just speak to a human. Trying to get through to the local rental place proved to be even more difficult.

It was unclear how to contact the offices directly, so we ended up getting transferred to call centers a couple of times that didn’t have accurate information for our pick up and drop off locations, specifically when we couldn’t find a location and were unclear on hours of operation.

The two people that run the that location are incredibly unprofessional. They weren’t at the desk when I arrived, they left cell phone numbers to call. I called Nichola, she had a horrible attitude and said sorry, call one of the other numbers, I’m not working today. I called the other number for Jack. Got his voicemail several times in a row. He finally called me back after I asked for help from the hotel staff. He sounded like he was at a party as someone was screaming happy birthday in the background. After about 30 or 40 min of waiting, Jack finally arrived. He didn’t have my car ready, he was hunting through a huge ring of keys. He ended up sticking me in a car that was completely filthy, dirty, smelled bad…. I ended up stopping at Walgreens and buying Windex to clean the car out because it was so nasty. I’ll never rent from this location or likely even from Budget again. Do yourself a favor and stick with Enterprise. I’ve never had trouble with Enterprise and they actually pick you up. Good luck if you’re dealing with this clown show.

I honestly didn’t like a thing! The car wasn’t clean. There was a problem with a tire holding air. They over charged. There was no one available to revive the car upon return and I had to wait an hour for someone to show up. And, the women that was also waiting to return her car had the same frustrations. What was also very upsetting, I extended my stay and I wanted to extend my rental agreement. They refused to do this over the phone, they wanted me to travel over an hour to return the car then re-rent. How absurd! So they lost me as a customer. I went and rented from a competitor. Overall….. not a good experience and I will avoid renting with budget in the future and I will share my bad experiences with friends snd family.
