Great staff, great car and great experience all in all. But I want to went some of my frustrations about car rental companies in general: I do though think it is unfair to charge drivers under a certain age an extra fee, it makes no sense. Shouldn’t it rather be based on when you got your driving licence? A 24 year old person who has been driving for 7 years is certainly a better driver than a 27 year old who got their licence a week ago. If you’re basing it on statistics, that younger drivers are more likely to be reckless - then you should also charge all male drivers an extra fee because they are statistically much more likely to cause accidents than women.

My experience with Avis on the Faroe Islands was fantastic. Despite the remote location and the small airport, the Avis experience was as it should be. The representatives were kind, thorough, and helpful during pick-up and return. I would rent from Avis in the Faroe Islands again.

Could not believe how expensive rental cars have gotten but that's not the agency fault. Avis in the Faroe islands was typical of most places but staff seemed like they just did not want to be there.

Poor|July 2023

Absolutely terrible. I reserved AT THE AIRPORT. The car was in Torshavn. I had to spend USD $125 to get there and DK 1000 to drop it off. I’m not stupid. I can read maps. This is NOT what I reserved. The first car wouldn’t start—even no response with battery jumpers. The se car had already been wrecked/damaged. The collision sensor went off EVERY HALF A MINUTE. Is Sixt going to pay for the Psychiatrist?!? Took it back where front plate was removed (it was mangled and causing sensor to detect collisions constantly. BTW, at the airport at departure I overheard someone else saying they would never rent from Sixt again. Amen! To be fair, the woman who tended to us was as nice as could be. Professional, apologetic. Kudos to her.
