I booked the reservation for Balboa Avenue instead of the airport location, and they refused to transfer the quote over and honor it. They wanted to charge me twice as much. So I went to Budget instead which I was able to book through Expedia.

Car was very dirty inside. I used cleaning wipes that turned black after wiping off the steering wheel. Sticky stuff on the control knobs on dashboard. Turned on air vents and smelled like cigarette smoke, which I did not catch until I had left the rental location. No windshield wiper fluid. I dropped it off at enterprise and told them, to be disregarded and now they are charing me for the smoke smell which made me sick on the drive and was not from me. WORST rental I have had.

I realize that the covid-related car shortage is affecting everyone. Finally found a car to drive from San Diego to Palm Springs, since my flight had been cancelled. Too bad it was almost $200! (My suitcase is still en route to Palm Springs--flight delayed. I left Washington, DC for Palm Springs Wednesday at 9am and was supposed to arrive at 2pm Wednesday. Oh well...)

They upgraded me to a very big ford exhibition ! I didn’t want a bigger one and said I was concerned about gas mileage and price if gas! Was told it was. 6 cylinder and should get good mileage! Then car was dead and worker had to jump it and said it would be fine if I drove it at least 10 minutes. And.. told me it only had 1/4 tank of gas, so I could return it that way. It actually had 1/8 tank of gas and we drove it 25 min, put in $76 worth of gas and took it home to load it up for our trip, then car was dead again!!! Had to call tow truck , car was jumped again and set up to drive to airport to get new car! Had to wait switch over stuff and got new economy car. Didn’t get off to our trip till 5pm! Drive to Arizona. The next morning we see return time is still 11am, the original time I picked up first car! Try to call MANY people at budget to get it extended to 5 pm so we can go on our would be hiking trip and have car for 24 hours. Was told we would be charged an extra 278!! That we could fight the charges later!! So… to avoid this ridiculous amount we take car back by 11. But now we have to pay 45 for Uber to get home. If we had it till 5 we would have gas a free ride home! So… I paid 76 in gas for a car I didn’t drive and an extra 45 for a ride I had to pay for because I couldn’t keep the car 24 hours!! And I didn’t get to hike at sodona! I feel budget owes me $126 and reimburse 120 for the car!! Not happy

Budget had no car for me & could not tell me when one would be available. Good thing I called before spending $25+ on a taxi to pick up car. Ended up walking & taking public transportation. Saved me a lot of $$s but stressful to learn. San Diego has a great transit system. I'll not bother wasting hours renting a car I never get & having to deal with car rental visa charges. What a hassle!! Thanks for nothing!

The person working there was very friendly and efficient. They only thing is that upon returning the car she thought she saw a chip in the windshield when I returned it. She couldn’t see the chip in her pictures she had taken. She called someone else who said they could see a chip in previous pictures. I prayed that I wouldn’t be held responsible for that and I wasn’t thank God! I knew I didn’t have anything hit my windshield and I had only driven it a few miles in the 4 days I had it.
