This was the worst rental experience I have ever had by far! The website let us book our rental for when we needed it…the day of our initial start to our travels we got a call from the company saying that the facility would be closed by the time we got in and that we wouldn’t be able to pick up our car. After being transferred to customer service/being on the phone for over an hour and being told it would be an extra ~$900, we tried to see what other avenues we could go down…finally the facility agreed to carry our reservation over to the next day. WELL. Next day comes around and they gave our reservation away, because they “don’t hold reservations.” Mind you, we don’t have transportation, have multiple bags, and are traveling with a 1 month old. The facility was finally able to get us a car but not without attitude from staff because they had to drive elsewhere to get it. The car was very cramped and given to us on 42% of a charge granted it was just returned, but nonetheless another inconvenience to our rental experience. We looked up our reservation to see if we could possibly take it to a different location for drop-off (we couldn’t) and the car we did end up getting wasn’t even tied to our reservation…it was the original car we were supposed to get…hoping this was taken care of in their system and glad it didn’t cause us anymore issues. Luckily, drop-off was a little smoother. Anyways. Do NOT recommend. The encounter was with Hurtz. 6609 Mira Mesa Blvd. San Diego, CA.
