Excellent, Edwin eagerly and thoroughly filled the rental contract of the vehicle, explaining all options. Was then politely greeted by Gabriel at the end of the rental, making sure my rental was to our satisfaction.

Fast service,but it took awhile to get the car ready

They were quick to check in and out. Car was new with under 5000 miles and clean. They did charge a daily fee for tolls which was really not needed.

I was charged for additional insurance when making the reservation and when i picked up my car was told the insurance I had was not acceptable and needed to take out budgets insurance which ended up costing me double what i was expecting to pay. car rental pick up in Santo Domingo is a very long and drawn out procedure it took me over 30 minutes to complete all the paper work and get the required documents and pay so i could go and get the car. the entire pick up process from time I got to the counter until I drove off the lot was over an hour which is just not acceptable. When finally departing with the car I was not informed that on return I must not follow signs to car rental drop off but go towards the terminal where the new budget office is. So on my return I went to the car rental area and once inside I realized I was in the wrong spot and then could not exit as needed a ticket to exit called budget who said they would come get me in about 5 minutes but this did not happen after waiting for about 20 minutes was fortunate that an employee from another rental company gave me an exit ticket so I get out and told me where to go. When I finally got to the budget drop off office and asked why I was not informed not to follow car rental signs was told but you picked the car up from here you should have know. Though by using a well know company would avoid all these issues but realize that was not the case. if renting cars at Las Americas airport Santo Domingo factor in at least 1 hour or more to get your car

They didn’t have the car

I tried to arrange everything before I went but when I got there they still tacked on a ton of charges nearly doubling the price of the car.

This rental experience was abysmal at best, an experience in being cheated, swindled and robbed. The “vehicle “ is seven years old. 69,000 plus miles. Bad tires. Dirty stains on seats, no floor mats, worn out carpet. Nothing as advertised at all! Nothing! The price went up substantially because we didn’t pick up the vehicle by the time stated. Hurricane Ian was ravaging the coast of Florida. Our flight was out of Miami. We were delayed three plus hours due to the hurricane! I will never use Dollar rental again and I’ll make sure anyone I can tell knows that Kayak was made aware of the situation and agreed with the end dealer to mistreat a customer.

Agent was not honest she lied and push insurance $165 extra. Will never go back to dolar from sju (Calle Los Angeles)

We arrived at 11:59 am and the office was closed.

The pick-up location isn't at the airport but in the heart of Condado which I new anyway so you have to add a ride to and from the airport if you fly in.

Office hours in the Condado pickup location should be extended to 5:00p to accommodate airlines arriving to Puerto Rico in afternoon

No communication at all. Tried calling all day to extend the return period and the never picked up. I called over 100 times..

The size car we paid for was unavailable so we ended up in a small car instead. And due to that it was a waste of money because we were overcharged.

I ordered à small car and they didn't have. They proposed me à more expensive car that I didn't take.

The car had roaches and had a lot of stains in the seats. After dropping it back at the airport and got our receipt online we noticed charges like the LDW that we got through the app and the lady at the airport took notice when we picked the car. In total they charged $199.92 for the LDW. They also charged for Roadside assistance and Personal Protection which we never asked or wasn’t offered. I will never use Thrifty again. I called their number in San Juan airport (787)253-2525 to file a claim and it took them 25 minutes to answer the call. Horrible service.

I brought a valid car collision and anti theft insurance valid in Dominican Republic. The employee from Thrifty told me that I had to buy extra insurance from then and he didn’t give me the car. That employee was very rude and unhelpful. At the airport, the other rental car employees told us that that was a very common practice from thrifty and their personnel, because that’s how they make their commissions. PLEASE!!! Do not rent from this people!!!

No cars available to rent when I arrived in Santo Domngo! Will never rent from them!
