The representative at the counter was helpful but the manager put us in a $53 car when I had paid $69. All he had left was a cheaper electric car and didn't adjust the rate. I thought I was agreeing to a "manager's special" but it was actually a "manager's choice". He made a CHOICE to put me in a lower priced car at a higher price. It was only a two day rental so I only overpaid by $32. The other issue was that I was making a one way, 900 mile road trip and stopping every 200 miles and spending an hour recharging an electric car was unacceptable.

La Guardia’s shuttle system is horrible. It requires the renter to take two shuttles to get to the rent a car location. When I returned the car at Hertz around 10:00 pm I pulled up and no acknowledgement by the gentleman working. He finally looked up and said you’re all set. The shuttle bus was running but no driver. I asked the ladies at the counter and they said he is probably in the restroom. He was actually chit chatting with a colleague then he gets on the shuttle and says he is off shift. No one cares less. Awful!

The representatives I met w/in person were above & beyond. They know their job, & were absolutely wonderful to interact with. My one complaint was my vain attempts to get thru to a living individual via phone when I had a question that I could not find an answer to on the website. That will give me pause in future, knowing this. Incredibly frustrating.

They don’t give me a car because they charged me extra more than I had money on credit card. They also told me , after declared transaction that can’t use my credit card again. Me , and my pregnant wife came back to the home by metro train. Everything was terrible , we are really sad. And we can’t return money yet, I don’t know why…

Staff tries to sell you unnecessary stuff. We bought a "toll pass" ($140) but turns out our route didn't need one at all. Also was sold an "upgrade for a good price" before I knew it. "Upgrade" cost more than the initial booking itself ($660 extra while I also had paid £400), which is completely ridiculous. Didn't have the chance to decline the upgrade, was just slapped onto the bill. Explicitly asked her how much it would be beforehand but the lady didn't answer that and just slapped it on there... Will never use again.

Their people are just great. There were 65 renters in front of me on line at the counter at LaGuardia on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend which explains why the pick-up part partially gets a frown. All the stations were full, so there was enough staff. It look 50 minutes to get the car.

Absolutely awful. I had to wait for 3 hours to get a car and then the car I got smelled like cigarette smoke. Had to smell that for a 9 hour drive home.

The vehicle provided to me had a problem with the ABS system that made braking in ice conditions almost impossible and placed me and my family in grave danger whilst travelling in Vermont in winter. I have raised this with them and they indicate that there is nothing that can be done. I regard this as unacceptable and I will never rent from them again.

I waited 40 minutes for the van pickup at the airport to the dollar rental facility. Show up at the facility and only 1 person behind the counter and over 40 people in line. Waited over 3 hours to pick up the rental car. After customers started Getting upset the manager came out said he is looking for cars. Everyone lost their patience, the manager then said he can’t help behind the desk. Everyone was yelling and upset that he was not helping resolve the situation. Finally got a car over 4 hours later. The worst experience I have ever had

Pickup was incredibly slow. One employee working incredibly slowly at the counter, bantering at a snail's place with a customer while there were many others waiting in line. Show some urgency and balance friendliness with expedited service.

Landed in Terminal B and there was no signage about how to get to rental car counter. There was no information in my booking confirmation email, either. It was simple once I figured out to go to Terminal A, but it took a while to figure that out.

Renting from Payless was a great experience. From booking to pick up and drop off, everything was seamless. I got a great car that came with Sat Nav built in which was great as I was visiting from the UK and had no roaming data so could not use Google Maps.

I picked up the car for a weekend and after driving it, the steering was screwed up, warning lights were coming on, oil change needed. I called and they said they’d bring a new car and it took over 12 hours to get it. The new car was better, but overall, rough experience.

My car was double booked and the other customer refused to come inside with me to sort the problem out. The staff handled it well but the fact that I lost almost an hour of my time waiting for it to be resolved when it should not have happened in the first place impacted the rest of my schedule.

I arrived about an hour earlier than my scheduled pick up time and the car I had reserved was not on-site. I was offered an upgraded vehicle for same price but had to pay for an extra day (for 1hr)-then proceeded to wait for 30 min for the staff to give me the keys to the vehicle that was easily seen in the parking lot. They did not tell me what the daily rate would be, nor did it show up on the small screen and I signed the rental agreement thinking it was an amended rental agreement to include my other reservation. I was very surprised to see later in the email the entire rental agreement that was for only one day and the cost was almost the same as for my initial multi day reservation. I had a similar issue at another Sixt rental location in Phoenix AZ in which there were additional fees that were added but I didn’t see them on the small screen. I think it would be helpful if they had full screens where we could see all the sections we are signing off on and then the list of charges with the total.

There was an issue at first which was quickly resolved. The agent, Kaila, gave us her card so that if we had questions we could contact her. I did have a question about tolls and about what would happen if we were late returning the car. She was very caring and responsive to our questions. I would definitely rent with Sixt again.

I’m very annoyed that it was never disclosed by either the car rental company or by Kayak that they close at 11:00 PM. My flight was delayed and I didn’t arrive until 11:45 and was forced to utilize an alternate rental car agency which resulted in a higher cost in excess of $100. I place the blame on both Kayak and the rental car agency for not disclosing this critical information. Had I been aware of this I would have used a different agency

The staff was awful. Locked me outside in the dark. I made a 7:00 reservation and at 6:30 was standing outside waiting for the shuttle. Finally the driver picked me up. Only to get there and they tell me that they’re closing and shut everything down. It s was beyond awful.

The pickup of the vehicle was good. There was problem with the drop off. Reason being I was leaving the Sunday and I had to drop off the car on Saturday. I had an early flight on Sunday and Sixt said there office will be closed and I should return the car on Saturday. Other than that everything was cool.
