Waited in a line for over 5 hours to pick up the car. And, didn't receive the car we ordered. We were given a pickup truck for a group of 3 people, 1 who isn't even 5 feet tall and had difficulty getting in and out of the truck. We lost our entire 1st day of vacation because of Payless. Additionally the counsel in the truck was broken and there were broken pieces of wood in the back of the truck. It was an unfathomable experience.

Ended up renting a car some where else. Staff didn’t know what they were doing was taking 25-30min per customer. It was a joke. I got a new reservation stood in line and got a car before the people in front of me had gotten a car. Never again.

The only good thing they had going was they provided water for people waiting. On the down side they did not have cars available, was over an hour wait and charged much more over and above the kayak price. In Australia if you book hire cars online you have insurance included and no more to pay at the outlet. My experience so far with USA car rental is they just charge what they want on top with various extra fees, insurance and taxes. Overall very disappointed.

When I filled out the online form it didn't go through on your end despite me getting an email saying it had and when I went to check in they didn't have my information. The U.S. 60 and i-10 in my area were both closed and the airport was the only location near me that was open in the morning. It took 2 hours for me to get the rental and get back home so I could put our stuff in and leave. The area to pull in to get the car was confusing and they all acted like I had to have a flight in order to get into the area to rent a car. I drove in because I couldn't find an entrance. I drove my car expecting that I would take the rental and my husband could drive back our car that was too small for our trip. After that there was a major accident on the 260 closing it down so I was 4 hours late to my appointment after everything that happened and it was too late and I was too tired to drive back and had to extend the time I was renting. That cost me an extra $200. As far as I'm concerned being charged the rate of $116 like I was the first day would make sense, but with everything that went wrong with just trying to get the rental and get to my destination charging me an extra $100 has made me never want to use budget ever again and I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to use them. With all the time I wasted I could have slept in and just gone down the street when the rental company near me opened at 9. I'm still tired from dealing with all this stress and while all of it wasn't your fault there was a lot that was.

The roadside assistance was horrid. The Tesla broke down with an unknown error code and when I can them the exact address where we were at the Grand Canyon West, the dispatched not 1 but 2 tow drivers that were over 2hrs away. Then we were told that there were no Ubers rides available. We were literally left in the AZ desert, 2 hrs away from “home” and there was “nothing” that could be done! Horrible service and the Tesla wasn’t picked up until 8am the next morning. The replacement car took almost another 18 hours to be delivered. They wanted me to pick it up! Was I supposed to walk? Worst customer service in the country.

Plan on waiting up to an hour to get car after you check in to the Avis counter at Sky Harbor Airport. The rental car companies need to find a better way to bring up cars to customers.

With National membership it was nice to skip the rental desk and just pick an available car. The problem was that they didn't have the car type that we reserved, so we were told to just pick any car in the Emerald Aisle. I had to call National twice after rental completed because they severely overcharged us vs. the agreement/reservation we had made.

Car rental prices have gone up far to much. From a year ago the price is 3-4 x higher. They lost a lot of money during the peak of covid 19 and they are trying g to make it back as fast as possible. So good luck everyone!!
