Pickup employee was efficient and friendly. Dropoff employee was impatient and disappeared before telling us receipt would be emailed... we had to ask another renter. It would have only taken a few seconds to communicate this, as well as "thank you". There are many other choices.

The staff were helpful and when I mentioned the car I originally rented had no functioning front turn signals they gave me a nicer car w/o hesitation. The nicer car however was not very clean. There was an artificial fingernail in one of the backseat door compartments and a large rock under the front passenger seat. Other than that I was very pleased with the overall experience.

Reservations vastly underestimate actual charges. Vehicle was dirty inside and out, so i switched to another vehicle that was dirty outside and smelly inside. Charges added for late return of vehicle, due only to the Avis desk being closed during return time. Google maps indicated this one-hour closed period (12pm-1pm for lunch), although Avis still accepts return times during this hour. After waiting 45 minutes for the clerk's arrival, the vehicle will be late, and an extra day's rental rate is charged. Avis, a "budget" car rental company, charges as much as blue-chip rental companies through hidden charges and fees, misinforming customers and scamming for late returns. Car rental companies with better vehicles, service and prices APPEAR more expensive while browsing for rates, but Avis, with an inferior product, will squeeze even more money out of the customer in dishonest ways.

I thought my reservation at budget was for a car but when I got there the only thing they had to offer me was a pick up truck at the price quoted. To get a car would have cost an additional $100. The classic bait and switch. Therefore, I just went to Thrifty and got a Camry for $150 less than what I would've paid for the pick up truck. The customer service at Thrifty Rent-A-Car was welcoming, efficient and all-around great! I'll never use budget again.

Crappy bait and switch car. Wanted a car with trunk like Camry, got a ford edge suv with no trunk and no cover for storage area. Shitty mpg and because flight delays they change price.

The first car (a very nice Lexus) we were given had an expired registration, which is dangerous and could have potentially led to us being charged with a crime if we were pulled over in the state that we rented the car in. We then were asked to switch the car out and that it would need to be towed and we might be charged for the tow, which is ridiculous. However, the tow truck never showed, so we drove to the rental facility ourselves. We were told by a manager there that they had a better car for us, but after completing paperwork, that manager went off shift and suddenly no cars were available except for an unclean Toyota Prius that was not in great condition. We were annoyed at all the extra work we had to do just to get the rental we had originally booked.

Ian was very polite professional and knowledgeable. And he and his team seem to enjoy working their jobs and each other which is super refreshing to see. Ian is a real asset to your company. I have rented many cars in my life and it’s always been a neutral, at best, experience. Ian made it easy and friendly. He’s a great guy. Keep him around! He probably deserves a raise… and that is an unsolicited opinion! Just I’ve been part of running small businesses for decades and have also been part of teams for years and I recognize a special employee when I see them.

I called several days in advance and was told all was confirmed (after booking months in advance). I arrived at the pickup, only to be told they didn't have the minivan I reserved. They proceeded to say that the 3rd party sites didn't communicate well with Enterprise and hinted that I should have booked direct. I showed them my confirmation that had their logo and address while they attempted to get me to accept a 4-5 passenger small SUV. I was transporting part of a team, so that wouldn't work. They said to come back the next day because there were no minivans in the city...even though I had reserved one. So I drove the 25 minutes home and 25 minutes back the following morning. They found and cleaned one (great!) and attempted to charge me nearly double (not great!). Fortunately I caught it, and all ended well. Was just a HUGE hassle and delay, mixed with 3 employees not seeming to know what was going on.

I went through Kayak and rented the car through Hotwire. You expect the customer service for a company to be experts at what they do. They were not in this case. My delta flight to Portland was an hour late which put me outside of my pick up time at Enterprise. I called Hotwire customer service and was told I would have to rebook my rental car. This was after they contacted Enterprise on my behalf. 15 minutes later after my rental with Enterprise was cancelled, my daughter found that they have a policy of waiting 2 hours after close for delayed flights. It cost me an extra $500 to rebook my rental. To say I am upset would be an understatement. I expect that either Kayak or Hotwire will reimburse me for the added cost.

The vehicle I reserved was not available when I went to pick it up. It was also impossible to reach a live person via phone. I sent an email and never received a response. I will say that they upgraded my vehicle though since the one I reserved was not available. That was a nice gesture.
