We arrived on an overnight flight like many international travelers. There was no one staffing the counter. We found out later that there was only one person working, and he was checking people in, filling gas in cars, and walking people to the cars. If took over an hour to get our car even though we were second in line. Conversely, the return was easy. But I think we got lucky in that someone spotted us in the parking lot and checked us in.
The person at the Tahiti airport office took forever with each patron. So, you wait in line for an extended period of time. When it is finally your turn, the person at the desk will quote you something entirely different from what you were quoted online and tell you that the online quote was merely to reserve a vehicle. She will also ask you where you are staying to determine whether to give you an unlimited mileage rate or a pay-per-mile rate, which ever is likely to result in a higher amount for the rental. Our rental quote was nearly double what we were quoted online.
Very good support from the staff.
Pick up and drop off easy peasy. No lines and we were in our rental in no time after arriving Tahiti after 9 pm. Wish they didn't charge separately for miles, makes for an expensive rental. Good thing Tahiti isn't that big :)
Didnt like the pay per kilometer option (the only option). Apart from that, everything else was lovely!
