I booked this car rental for a trip I had planned. I was unable to go due to illness and was forced to cancel my flights, hotels and tried to cancel this car rental. Whether its KAYAK or SIXTH, one of them is a scam. I was unable to cancel my reservation and tried to for 4-5 days prior to the day of pick up and was met with unresponsive emails to my requests everyday. I am still out over $1,100 for a car that was never rented and tried to cancel well within my days to cancel. I am extremely disappointed in both of these sites. If Sixth is the issue, then KAYAK should not book them on their platform. Very upset.

Although there was only one other client ahead of me, it took over an hour to receive my rental. Then when they were doing the final inspection, they realized that the washer fluid container was leaking and told me that they would need to give me a different vehicle. The manager mentioned that he would give me $75 off my bill, which was nice. When I dropped off the vehicle, the $75 refund was no where to be found. The manager was not there, but luckily when he was called he remembered and walked the associate through how to do a refund. This whole process, however, made me have to wait for the shuttle a second time. The goal was about an hour for drop off too ☹️
Nice vehicle. No problems with it. Drop off was easy. Pick up - we waited for over an hour for the car to be brought up (along with others) not being told we could go to the vehicle and check out despite asking about it. I was told I would get an email after turning it in which I did not seem to get. Bill was more than expected or initially presented and I don't yet know why.

Long lines at San Juan Puerto Rico airport to get car. Handled well a parking fine I received.
The staff simply needs more help. Even with a reservation, our wait-in-line time was 45min. If not for some initiative taken by an employee, the car inspection and retrieval process would have added an additional 20min to the pickup. Otherwise, the staff was nice and helpful.

The car was in pretty bad shape inside. The seats were dirty and the trunk was in bad shape. For the amount I paid, I expected a much better car. The service was awful because there was only one person working while there were about 30 people trying to rent a car.
Awful , when we reserved online we were told our rental Would be only $188 , when we cams to get our car it came out to $632 , the lady was rude when I had told her rental only said $188 with an attitude, oh but it comes wish everything and you get the $250 back , I said to her my flight was much cheaper then this . When we got our car later in the day we notice a roach or 2 .. we went to buy food for our air bnb . When we went upstairs and took the food out roaches were coming out of everywhere , we went back and told they guy he did switch our car , he said ppl eat and leave food in the car . That does not matter those cars should be clean every time a car is returned!!!! We will never ever rent from here again!!!!! , we should get half our money back plus the deposit.

Classic "Bait & Switch" tactic. Price listed at reservation (with fees and taxes) was roughly $111.00. I was forced to buy their insurance ($17/day at least) even though my MN auto insurance provides full coverage. Car had not been washed, interior smelled of marijuana, windows were dirty. Agent said fuel was at 3/4 tank. After driving 6 miles, I noticed that the fuel level was actually 1/4, so they obviously lied. The exterior condition of the vehicle was poor....many dents and scratches. I only drove on paved roads, through some torrential rain - which didn't wash off all of the one bird poop ( from parking under a tree). There was minimal sand on the floor mats (from going to the beaches). No trash left in vehicle. Interior roof in the bach seat was stained prior to our rental. I was assessed $150 cleaning fee. MY FINAL BILL WAS $630.00. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
It was all good until we opened the rental car door and it was super dirty and then A Cockroach was in the car and where there’s one theres more … so we asked the attendant of Avis what can he do for us and he didn’t have any options for us so we had no choice but to use the rental . I also have a picture of the cockroach because I was in disbelief I’ve never seen such .

I had reserved a 3-row SUV, but only a mini-van was available upon arrival. The queuing situation was a little confusing, so I was evidently waiting for an agent in the wrong place. When he realized this (i.e., when I finally came up to him), he said he couldn't help me, since I wasn't in the right line, and he made me go to the end of the line. The people in front of me had a mismatch between their reservation (under the wife's name) and the driver's license (the husband). The difficult agent mentioned above did not help them, for instance by modifying their reservation. He just refused to figure out a way for them to get the car that they had reserved and paid for. I found this a pretty amazingly ungenerous way to act.

The car was very clean and nice. The pick up of the vehicle was great and my car was ready to go as soon as I arrived off the plane for pick up. It has been over 24 hours And I still have not received my 300$ deposit, nor have a received an email or text about my deposit. I returned the car in the exact same condition as well as with a full tank of gas. This is unacceptable. When I asked the lady at the desk when I would receive my deposit back she said “whenever the guy down in returns closes out your ticket”

Our plane tickets were changed by the airlines due to the expected snow. (We had 8 inches.). We contacted Avis and asked them if they would hold our reservation until Sunday. We said we were willing to honor paying for seven days when we would only be using it six. They said they would try holding it 24 hours. We had a couple of conversations with them with the same answer. When we arrived in San Juan we went straight to the counter and the lady informed us that our reservation had been cancelled because of the 24 hour time frame. She said the only car left was a two passenger vehicle and we were traveling with family. Our satisfaction would be rated a “0”. We received zero help, zero consideration, and zero assistance. We didn’t change our flight but Avis sure rented our car and we are sure it was for more $$ than OUR rental would have been. So no, we will never use Avis again! Mary Gibson

Staff at pickup counter was very rude. I had ordered a 7 passenger minivan, they were trying to give me a Hyundai Santa Fe & insisting that it would be the same. Eventually gave me an old minivan with a broken key fob and a shot suspension! Very disappointed!
