Very good experience all the way through. Lots of other car rentals have sketchy practices but these guys are totally legit. For some reason there seems to be a lot of paperwork to go through to obtain the car, which has been the same experience with every rental we’ve gotten in Mexico. Highly recommend them,

Grossly overpriced, Using Uber 2-3 times/day would have been much less expensive, and much more convenient. In addition, Budget substantial "daily" insurance fee, which was not disclosed at the time I made the booking. This part is completely unacceptable.

Bait and switch! The car we reserved wasn't available and they did not honor our reservation. The height of the season, we had no choice but to pay more than double for a larger car that we didn't need. It turns out that they take reservations for car that they don't have, then bump you up. They claimed that they emailed us suggesting that we pay in advance to prevent this from happening - this was a lie, they only emailed a confirmation, and there was no way to pay in advance even if we wanted to. When we told them this on the phone, we were switched to various people with random excuses until the call was dropped. We met several others with the same experience. They're scammers and they know it.

For some reason my credit card which had available funds of 10k euros was rejected by budget’s system. I had previously used the same card with Alamo in Costa Rica for a rental of 25 days without issue. No reason was given by the staff who just shrugged their shoulders and looked as though they couldn’t care less. I will not even consider using budget again.

Pickup took a long time. Rental agency charged me $160 for the most basic insurance and said it was mandatory. I paid $23 through Kayak.

Car had under body parts that drug the ground on every bump. Check out with the car for damage did not happen. Paperwork process took a very long time. Hah to wait a long time for car to arrive at checkout location. I recommend using any other rental car company.

The cost of the rental was reasonable. I had also paid $165 for third party vehicle insurance. But once I showed up to pick up the vehicle, the mandatory liability insurance was over twice the cost of the vehicle rental cost. Plus, if you don't take their collision insurance, they require a hold on your credit card for thousands of dollars. Will never rent from them again.

Picking up the car was a very long process. Has to endure the sales of signing up for presentation to reduce the price of the local insurance .... $425/week for a minimum coverage!!! .... although it seemed to be negotiable. Apparently you reserve the car at a low rate and pay a high local insurance at check out!!

We reserved a large, 15-passenger van and were given 2 minivans instead. They said they would call us when a 15-passenger van became available, we never heard back. I also believe we were overcharged based on the pricing we saw online, but didn't have a screenshot or anything else to prove that 2 minivans were going to cost less than 1 large van.

All was great, but car died an hour after the pickup. On the other hand they handled it really well. They got to the restaurant we were in about 30min. Drove us to our hotel, and brought the replacement in about 80 min. So not too bad…. We did loose a few hour on the beach on day one though.

They were scamming customers. They force you to purchase their insurance for $99-150. I saw them find random things wrong with multiple cars that were being returned — it was almost like they already knew where the damage was. Don’t believe the prices, just go to enterprise or some other reputable company.

The rental price is provided in USD, with an exchange rate of 20-30% higher than the official rate. That's not the main issue. But, the fact they make you pay in Mexican pesos with the conversion rate they provide. Is not possible to pay in cash (USD/MXN), nor in the currency of your credit card (USD). Thus, they overcharge you with at least 20% more than the original price announced/agreed. This is an abusive practice, and I would recommend find another place where to rent a car, as there are plenty not doing this.

Worse rental car company. Took us 2 hours to get our rental car. The guy charged us twice so had a extra charge on my card ( we did get that resolved). Finally we get to rental car it’s the wrong size compact ( ordered a full size 5 of us). Went back to get the right car told us they didn’t have the car so later they would swap the car out/ drive the right full size car to us. At the end of the day we had to make the phone calls to get ahold of them. Once we finally got ahold of them after numerous tries of course they had no idea what was going on and who said they would replace the car. It got so bad that we told them we wanted to cancel the car charge us for the day they told us they would charge us for the 4 days we had reserved so we had said we are going to cancel our credit card on file. We started driving back to return the car and 30/40 mins later they called us before we got back to the airport and said that could swap the cars. So luckily we were almost there made it a quick swap 1hr and 30 mins. This rental car company is a joke I will never ever spend a dollar towards this company again. We visit Mexico a lot due to family and this is our 1st time feeling like we were getting strong armed. Save your money go somewhere else.
