I couldn't believe how poor the service was at the Wilmington Airport Alamo Car Rental location. I had a confirmation number and was on my way to pick up the car when Nicole from the rental company called to tell me that they didn't have a car for me. I told that I had a confirmation and she informed me that didn't matter. She made no attempt to help me and offered no solution, just told me there wasn't a car for me. Lesson is to never trust a confirmation from Alamo.
Pros:Nothing. Will never try Alamo again.
Cons:First, my flight arrival time that I booked (11:30PM) was moved to Alamo's closing time of 6PM (without notice). Second, when I requested a late pickup, they refused. Hertz was accommodating. Third, they offered that I could pick it up the next day. What was I supposed to do, wait at the airport till they opened the next day? Forth, I asked if they were suggesting that I take my business elsewhere, all I got was crickets! Needless to say, I canceled my reservation and took my business to Hertz who set up for both a late night pickup AND an early morning drop-off. All three agents involved in the transaction were courteous and did what they promised. It all worked perfectly! Better yet, the price was HALF what Alamo was charging for their dis-service.
Having a choice to pick the type of car that is available at time of rental like National Ececutive or Emerald Aisle.
Had a great experience with Alamo. Convenient and professional in every way.
