I booked a dodge challenger but given a ford escape. The ford interior had not been vacuumed and had dirt and food debris in the console/gear shift. The exterior of the vehicle had not been washed and the windshield was covered with dead bugs. However, the drop-off at Toronto Pearson Airport was smooth and efficient

Ottawa pick up was fine. Drop off in Louisville was a joke. They had taped the key box up with duct tape and put a cryptic note that said that since people were stealing their cars, you couldn't leave you key in a drop box...you had to come back the next day. We had our car in airport long term parking and lived 120 miles from this location...so there is no way we were coming back. I ended up leaving the vehicle there and giving the keys to an Avis employee at the airport...a mile away.

I really could have used a snow brush, but I didn’t find it. The windshield had recently been cleaned, leaving a residue on the inside, that made it hard to see when driving into the sun, as the sunshine lit up the residue.

I am appalled at how unsafe it was for Budget to be providing cars to folks in this Ottawa weather at this time of year with NO WINTER TIRES. Driving from Ottawa to Quebec felt so unsafe and took us so much longer than it should have because ALL SEASON TIRES ARE NOT WINTER TIRES. We were sliding all over the road and I am a very experienced and confident driver. It is deplorable that just because winter tires aren’t legally required in Ontario that Budget would be putting their patrons in such danger during the winter months. Not impressed.

I had a lot of difficulty trying to manage the rental (make changes) online. Also used the chat line, who were unable to help & gave me a phone number to call that was out of service. Then, when I only wanted to change my pickup & drop-off time, it wanted to make me restart the whole rental process.
