Everything the man at the counter very helpful no pressure sales and the lady in garage was extremely nice. Car was fantastic!

Desk man was helpful, efficient, and courteous. He was personable enough without being overly assertive. Good info, quick check-in, helpful service. Upon return, the attendant in the garage was AMAZING. Super pleasant lady, incredibly helpful and personable, and went out of her way (from detailing returned cars) to offer guidance and support. Above and beyond positive person and service. She was enough to make me want to check AVIS first when returning to the area.

We booked a Full sized car for pick up and drop off at Victoria Airport but it got fouled up and was set for pickup downtown instead. Big price difference and National said we would have to get an SUV instead at an even higher price so advised to take shuttle ($50 later) downtown. Wouldn't have upset us but got there and was informed there they don't have full sized cars so "would upgrade us" to a puny SUV or we could pay to upgrade to a slightly less puny one! Told customers are "happy to be upgraded"! I tried to get into the 'mid-sized' Hyundai and couldn't contort myself through the door opening without Yoga moves and then once inside felt like being rooled into a Catscan machine! Just way too closterfobic! And we have a VW beetle that we love the interior room and comfort of! We canceled the booking at National and walked around the corner (still minus our $50 shuttle cost) to Avis where they quickly got us set up in a very comfortable and only slightly highr priced Chrysler 300S! All I can say is don't trust 3rd party booking systems to get what you book where you think you're booking. Have a direct with rental car back up booking to be sure you have something and know what you are getting! Sad this rip off the customer ridiculous price gouging the rental companies are doing is pushing us all to look for alternatives that aren't always safe. So they can get us comfortable with the higher price for swinging their fleets to Electric cars while paying for that fleet changeover! Sucky!!!

Somehow when I searched car rentals at YYJ it had me picking up my car at the downtown Victoria location. The great staff at the airport fixed the reservation without any “up charge”!! They are awsome. Car was new and very clean.
