They charged me for being 3 days late because they had my name associated with another customers vehicle. Have a case in to resolve. I have rented from Avis 3 times this year. I have had issues 2 of those times. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Entire transaction was easy and quick. Cars conveniently close by. Pick up was a fairly busy time but the staff remained courteous, professional and efficient throughout.

The desk clerk was slow, unconcerned with the line, and disinterested in providing good customer service. She mumbled a few questions, skipped the standard ones about bringing the car back with a full tank of gas, and I had to ask her to repeat herself several times. Honestly she couldn't have been less interested. The car itself had an overwhelming odor of tobacco and mint. It was nauseating. If the line hadn't been so slow and the clerk so unhelpful, I would have requested a different car. Also, although I booked a medium car, I was given a Grand Cherokee which is a large SUV. I would have liked to have a choice about this -- as the car I requested was a VW Jetta "or similar". This does not seem similar.

Arrived at location and reserved car was not available. Apparently due to a safety recall. Was offered alternative but they were not acceptable for the purpose as they had inadequate luggage room. Was never contacted regarding issue, so w wasted over an hour on trip to location.

Traveling and I was unaware that I needed my credit card, so I was denied a rental car at the airport. I was stranded in the middle of an unknown city until a stranger assisted me. We should be informed what your requirements are before our arrival!
